Southern Alberta's exclusive AMA towing contractor since 1974
TNT Towing and Salvage Disposal has served Lethbridge and southern Alberta since 1974, when founder J. Petri started the company with a single one-ton Ford. The business grew through several moves, from a small rented service station to a 5,000-square-foot shop in 1977 and a 7,000-square-foot facility on three acres in 1980, and now runs what it describes as the largest fleet of tow trucks south of Calgary, with 35 radio-dispatched units running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. TNT is Lethbridge's exclusive AMA contractor, providing all Alberta Motor Association member towing services alongside general light and heavy-duty towing for vehicles ranging from broken-down golf carts to full commercial semis. The company also handles recoveries, including motor-home recovery and pulling loaded trailers out of ditches, and specializes in careful, damage-free transport for hard-to-tow and high-value exotic vehicles. Beyond towing, TNT operates a salvage disposal business, auctioning vehicles branded as government tender, insurance salvage, or parts-only, with bidding open to the public both in person and online; every bid starts at a $500 minimum and carries GST plus a $10 AMVIC fee. Based on 36th Street North in Lethbridge, the company points to its long history and large dispatched fleet as the basis for fast estimated arrival times, having served Canada and the United States since 1974. Ken Cannady later joined the operation as it kept expanding its equipment and truck count through the 1980s, purchasing additional one-ton trucks, tandem wreckers and a tractor-trailer unit, building the local footprint the company still runs from today.
