Pick your city below - or read the New Brunswick rules first, because what a tow operator can and can't do here is worth two minutes of your time.
New Brunswick towing operates under general consumer law and municipal rules. Accident tows are typically covered through your insurer's claim. Private-property towing requires posted signage in Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton.
The Trans-Canada (Route 2) is the spine - long forested stretches between exits mean noting the nearest kilometre marker when you call for help genuinely speeds up your rescue. Moose are a real nighttime hazard on the 7, 8 and 11; if you hit one, treat it as a serious collision and call 911.
Rates run about $80–$115 hook-up plus $3–$4.25/km in the three cities. Fundy coast fog and winter ice storms drive seasonal spikes. Bilingual operators are common in the southeast and north.
Ice storms are NB's specialty hazard - when freezing rain is forecast on 511, the safest tow is the one you don't need. Winch-outs surge after every event.
