Mario's Towing Ltd has kept British Columbia's Interior and Okanagan highways clear for more than 30 years, tracing back to 1985 when Mario and Darlene Moretto opened their first towing operation with a single truck in Prince Rupert. After towing for the RCMP, the City of Prince Rupert, and BCAA there, the family moved to the Okanagan in 1991, opened a company in Summerland, and in 1997 founded Mario's Towing Ltd on Highway 97N in Kelowna. Operators train through the Wreck Master program, and the company holds a WorkSafeBC Certificate of Recognition for occupational health and safety, earned in 2021 through the PACE program for higher-risk workplaces.
