Family-run towing and automotive service in PEI since 1960
Campbell's Towing & Service Station has operated out of Dundas, PEI since 1960, when Clem Campbell founded it as a modest rural gas stop. His son Gary Campbell now runs the business with other family members, and it is counted among the Maritimes' oldest independently run service stations. Towing was added to the business in the 1970s, multiple hoists were installed to expand the garage in the 1980s, and a second location opened in Montague in 2010 to shorten response times across eastern PEI. Today the company answers calls at any hour, any day of the year, averaging under 45 minutes to reach a customer anywhere on the Island. The fleet includes flatbeds, heavy wreckers, and float trucks, supporting light and medium towing as well as heavy-duty wrecker work for transport trucks, tractors, and RVs, along with winching and recovery from accidents, rollovers, and off-road situations. Roadside calls cover battery boosting, vehicle unlocking, and fuel delivery, and the business also handles equipment hauling and long-distance towing to destinations beyond Kings County, including Souris. Alongside towing, Campbell's runs a full-service garage offering mechanical repair and authorized MVI inspections, plus oil changes for local drivers who need routine maintenance. The company is fully licensed and insured, with two dispatch points, Dundas and Montague, together covering Kings County and all of Prince Edward Island. Customer accounts on the site describe a truck reaching a stranded driver on the Trans-Canada in under 40 minutes and a heavy wrecker responding quickly after a transport truck rolled on Route 4. For a breakdown, a collision, or a piece of equipment that needs hauling anywhere on the Island, either location can send a truck any hour of the day.
